From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Written reports are documents which present focused, salient content to a specific audience. Reports are often used to display the result of an experiment, investigation, or inquiry. The audience may be public or private, an individual or the public in general. Reports are used in government, business, education, science, and other fields. Reports often use persuasive elements, such as graphics, images, voice, or specialized vocabulary in order to persuade that specific audience to undertake an action. One of the most common formats for presenting reports is IMRAD: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion. This structure is standard for the genre because it mirrors the traditional publication of scientific research and summons the ethos and credibility of that discipline. Reports are not required to follow this pattern, and may use alternative patterns like the problem-solution format. Additional elements often used to persuade readers include: headings to indicate topics, to more complex formats including charts, tables, figures, pictures, tables of contents, abstracts, summaries, appendices, footnotes, hyperlinks, and references. Some examples of reports are: scientific reports, recommendation reports, white papers, annual reports, auditor's reports, workplace reports, census reports, trip reports, progress reports, investigative reports, budget reports, policy reports, demographic reports, credit reports, appraisal reports, inspection reports, military reports, bound reports, etc. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License Why is it important to report discontinued operations or extraordinary items separately? Q. Why is it important to report discontinued operations or extraordinary items separately from income from continuing operations? Is this method of reporting allowed? What concerns does this type of reporting create? Does the average investor understand the difference? In what way(s) might the information be presented to clarify meaning for investors? Asked by swtncudly143 - Wed Jan 6 14:14:06 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Discontinued operations and extraordinary items represent financial occurrences that theoretically won't happen often, if ever, again. If an investor or potential investor is evaluating the future prospects of a company, it would make sense to remove extraordinary items and discontinued operations from the picture, because these items should have no bearing on the future. The concerns might be that management misclassifies an ordinary, recurring expense transaction as "extraordinary" or "discontinued" in order to improve the results of continuing operations. I believe that most investors understand the difference. Answered by The CPA Guy - Wed Jan 6 14:26:03 2010 How to report spam email from a yahoo account to my other email account? Q. Someone heavily spam my company email box by sending junk mail from her yahoo account. How can I report this to Yahoo? Also if Yahoo shut down her account, she can immediately create a new account. How can this be prevented? Asked by Anna - Tue Nov 11 09:01:22 2008 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments A. Go here to report the messages: Choose Spam as the reason for the violation you're reporting on. Even though Customer Care may shut down her account because of the Terms of Service violation, she can repeat the process over and over again until tiring out. Just let the law deal with her and she'll have to pay the price for her spamming ways.
